Steering Box

Postby Jamesdeere24 » Mon Nov 30, 2015 9:05 am

Hey all,
I am considering replacing my steering box. I have replaced all my front end parts, and this is the last step..
Any suggestions on a good steering unit?

Is it worn out or leaking? Steering loose?

No its just worn out. No leaks, all new hoses too.
I imagine with the age of the truck and how much abuse the owner before me put on it,
the ball bearings inside the pump are worn.
I've heard mixed reviews about rebuilt boxes, was just curious if anyone has replaced there's and what brand/company/aftermarket
they used.

I have replaced my box on my 92 with a Napa box. It started leaking about a month after install. It has a lifetime warranty but it's the time I don't have.

Thank you David,
I have been looking at those red head boxes, sure are expensive, but I have also heard
lots of good things about them!

Ditto on the Redhead steering box. Put one on my last 92 W250 and it steered like a new truck.
