They do make a difference. A quality one will give a more solid feel to the steering. I've begun to notice how poor the stock stabilizer is on my 4th gen. That thing is staring to get a sloppy, almost jittery feel to the steering. I think a new stabilizer would help a fair bit in giving a better feel to the steering
