Speedo gone mad

Postby Jelmer » Tue Jan 05, 2016 1:55 am

The speedo in our truck is gone mad. It was off a lot because it was missing the ratio adapter but tje needle was pretty stable. I've ordered the correct ratio adapter but didn't fit it yet because we need a "90ยบ knee" (anyone has one?). Last week the speedo needle started to bounce like hell when driving on the freeway. Th speedo unit is already rebuild in 2010.

The speed sensor is likely going bad or loose. I've also encountered that happening when the wire connection would be oily or loose at the speed sensor

Ellis,

It's been a while but the speedo sensor is almost new. I also detected another, new issue: When I start the truck the speedo goes already to, let's say 40mph but i don't even drive yet!
