speedometer 1992 electric vs 1989 cable

Postby jmos4 » Tue Jan 19, 2016 6:57 pm

Hi,

I'm going to be starting a conversion on a gas 92 W250 using a 1989 D250 and wanted to know can I run the 92 speedo or do I need to convert to a cable.

One thing to note the 1989 is a 85mph, the 1992 is a 110mph

Is there a way to convert the 92 to a mechanical cable?

Regards,

The 92 is electric. No provision on the speedo head to convert it. The bucket the speedo head fits into is different between cable and electric. The only way would be to use all the speedo assy and cable out of the 89. The faces are different between the two speedo's.
