ramcharger gas tank in d350

Postby rockmike » Wed Apr 28, 2021 1:38 pm

Howdy folks.I got a 93 d350 and im wanting more fuel storage.I think I recall reading that guys fit the old ramcharger tank between the frame rails in the back where a spare tire might go.In addition to the factory side tank.

I searched and failed.

FWIW I have a slip tank in it now,but I need the bed space on my flatbed...so thats why I want more fuel storage between the frame rails.I could install a tank selector valve....but I think I would opt to run an electric pump on the back ramcharger tank to fill my factory tank when runs low.

Anybody got info on what year of tank (maybe buy a new Dorman tank if available)how this additional tank would be installed...I am fabricator so Iaint scart of fabbin stuff etc.

Thankyou so much for your help and knowledge,Mike.

I pulled my tank from my 92 when I sold it, Have it installed in my 93 D350 dually now, just need to finish the hook ups. I made the brackets. What I need to figure out is how to fill it. I haven't got the plumbing worked out yet. I use the in tank pump to push it thru a water separator into the main tank.
If you want pics lmk, the box is still off so it's right there.

I installed a Ramcharger tank on my truck many years ago, and it's all I've been running on ever since to tell the truth.

I cut the fill door sheet metal off the donor Ramcharger along with the tank, and paid a body guy to install the second door in my bed. He did a great job and it really does look stock. I have the only two-fill-door Dodge I've ever seen but nobody ever appreciates it.

If you're still around I can provide pictures. Over the next couple years I plan to finish quite a bit of the outstanding projects on my truck.
