Skyjacker lift kit part #s

Postby roxxx » Tue Mar 04, 2008 2:24 pm

I was wondering if someone has some firsthand knowledge of what to order as far as part numbers ? I have gotten 2 quotes and the part numbers are not even close ,So I phone skyjacker and their numbers have me buying 1/2 ton stuff. I was ready to buy the kit but just checked numbers now not so sure. I want the 4 inch kit the block or pitman arm and the drag link plus the 4 inch soft ride springs. Any help would be greatly appreciated . I have thought about just biting the bullet and buying from jackit in Utah they have a premium kit. but kind of worried about bring it up due to taxes and duty.

sorry for the long post thanks

is the sky jacker kit nothing more than long travel shocks with leaves with a heavy arc ?

might be worthwhile to goto a place that specialises in making springs , and have a set of leaves made up .

http://www.alcanspring.com/ I had Alcan make the 6" springs for my 92. I put a Skyjacker 4" on the last 93 I had. I personally like the Alcans better. It was just the front springs as opposed to a kit from skyjacker though. You'd still need u-bolts, shocks, steering correction and something for the rear. They'll make rear springs too. If you want to go with Skyjacker, this is a pretty good source. http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/dodge69_93.htm

This is the source I found in the USA, they have this part Number (DG214PR) which is awesome value .But by the time I get it up here with shipping and Duty and GST Not such a good deal. That’s why I was looking for the part numbers, There is a person on the DTR site who said he can get me wholesale prices, but having bit of a problem getting all the right part numbers (just don’t want to waste his time)

That page in the link isn't showing the springs for cummins trucks. They make kits for 3/4 and 1 ton ctd.

I have Alcans on my crew cab... excellent springs. One of, if not the best modifications I have made to it. Mine has 4 custom built springs ( I had them change the spring pin locations) and it rides like a 1/2 ton Chevy and will still haul a load no sweat.

Moved what pin?

Lets see.....

They do custom springs....so I weighed each end of the truck... told them exactly how much arch i had/wanted. Then since I was planning 39" rubber I had them move the centering pins (which locate axle to the springs) an inch back on the rear springs, and a inch forward on the front springs.

It rides very nice, articulates quite well, and they have lived up to MANY abusive miles on and off road (usually well loaded) and so far not a single complaint.

I would say you have no need to worry about the centering pin issue if your staying smaller than 38" tires. It requires other modifications as well.

And yes I bought all 4 springs, and got rid of the rear blocks.

Only thing I did have issues with now that I think about it...was the rear leaves, rear eye bolt was considerably larger than my 1985 crew cabs...nothing a drill bit and opening up the holes in the spring hanger didn't solve.

Remember what the rear weighed?
How many leafs are in the rears?
How much weight have you carried?
