Cardone brake boosters

Postby MBergman » Fri Apr 04, 2008 1:00 pm

Has anybody had good luck or problems with these? I always hate buying reman parts, especially brake parts. I put one of their boosters in 6 weeks ago and today I hear a loud pop during a panic stop, and no more brake assist. Its going to be a fun drive home tonight. Plenty of vacuum going to it, no sucking noise (that I can hear with a straight pipe) but no vacuum held in the booster with the engine off. Didn't try testing the check valve, maybe do that before heading home.

Could be a brake line, how is your fluid level?

The brakes work, just no assist. The booster is toast. 0" vacuum with the booster hooked up, 26" with the back of the check valve plugged. New booster comes in tomorrow at work, then the hassle of warrantying this one from Rock Auto.

Well glad it was not a brake line, seems like everytime I have to replace one It ends up being all of the way to the front of the truck by the time I get done. I feel your pain about getting your parts store to cover your booster, just had to pull my 3 week old power steering pump off last night it was puking fluid out through the front seal-like full to empty in 6 miles! :x

The new Mopar booster is in. This truck finally stops the way it should. Only took 2 years and replacing everything to get it there.
