D250 Brake

You'll all laugh...

I should of replaced my front rotors 4 years ago....but never could find them.....so.....just keep replacing pads.

Now though....I am very worried the rotors will fail and someone could get hurt.

Every time I try to FIND those darn rotors.....it turns into a fiasco of me returning the wrong rotor.

My hub/rotor combo is pressed.....and alot heavier than any thing the parts store shows me.

Any advice on WHERE to find the rotor/hub combo...WITH bearings...all together?

Thanks guys....preciate the help

The year model of the truck and 2WD or $X$ would help us.

if its a 4 wheel drive you have to knock out the wheel studs then the hub should come off leaving just the rotor. then take it to napa and and get thhe rotors make sure you get the 4500 lb ones. I just did this on my truck.

Oh yea....sorry...1993 club cab 2wd. So I have to do the pressing? Or does someone make the whole thing....hub/bearing included?

Thanks

Oh....and besides Napa....any info on best price?....they already offered to press new rotors but the cost was sky high

When I replaced the rotors on my 90 D250, I just used a brass drift to knock the studs out and to put them back in with the new rotors. I couldn't find anyone who would press them for me, because I was doing the work myself. There isn't anything to it, just go slow, crisscross the rotor while putting them in (like you would tightening down the lug nuts) so you don't clock it at an angle, and make sure that you seat them all the way. You will need a couple of sections of 2x4 to keep the hub and rotor off of the shop floor far enough to be able to seat the studs fully. Schucks (Checker/Kragen), Carquest, Napa all had them when I was shopping around for them. Make sure and tell them you have the 4000lb front axle (4500 if you have a 4x4). Or just tell them you have a D350 single wheel. The D250 and D350 front end parts are the same with the diesel engine.
