i want power steering!!!

Postby T.winegar » Fri Feb 27, 2009 10:39 am

the power steering gave us trouble for a while, and we were told the pump is going out. so i replaced the steering pump and gear box on my 91.5 trying to get power steering back. nothing!!!! we have replaced the pump twice now and can not get it to work.

is this the air in the system? and if so, where is a place to bleed the air out???

any help or thoughts are greatly appreciated!!!!!

Ive always bleed them by have th front jacked up off teh ground and with the truck running saw the wheel from lock to lock. If the fluid gets air in it (foamy) let it sit a while and do it again. Always worked for me... beyond that your on your own!
