Fuel tank filler vent

You guys have heard of the tank vent mod right? Well, I just put in my draw straw, and as I was fishing around in the tank I came across this thing sticking down from the top of the tank. Needless to say, it ain't all there any more. I left about an inch, and expect to be able to fill faster and more than I used to. I was shocked to find it stuck down inside that far!
Oh, and my pickup screens had some muck on them too. Time for an algae treatment.
