My antilock and parking brake dash lights are staying on again in my 92'. I cannot find the rwal module behind the glovebox. Does anybody have any pics of this? Is my 92' different than other years? Any ideas? thanks everybody!

i don't have any pics but i can describe for you. open glove box, release tab on rear of box to allow to swing down. follow wires coming across airbox to blower resistor. next to resistor on lh side is a vacuum motor. from vacuum motor, go straight up towards top of dash. you'll see a black plastic box about 5"x8" with an electrical connector going to it. thats the abs controller. mine now resides in the local landfill

Mine was right there when I let the g-box down.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Its plugged in and looks ok. Go for a test spin, turn signal and abs fuse blows and brake light fuse blows after driving for 10 minutes. come home replace fuses, start truck back out into alley, take off abs and park lights come on , speedo still no worky! turn and brake lights work though. have you unplugged the abs module behind the glovebox. doing so will render the abs sytem inop and will not send power to the various components. blowing fuses means you have a dead short somewhere. your abs and speedo are more than likely 2 different problems. unplug the abs module and see what happens for the abs.

as for the speedo inop, theres a good speedo diagnostic discussion going on on one of these forums, i'll see if i can find it for you

SOMETIMES THEY WORK -- SOMETIMES THEY DON'T

Postby BEARKILLER » Fri May 11, 2007 8:57 pm

The wife jumped in her truck to take the kid somewhere.

She returned and said that her speedometer had quit, wouldn't do anything.

Fifteen minutes later, she takes off somewhere else, and, low and behold, the speedometer is working again.

It has been a couple weeks now, with no more problems.
