ABS lights

Postby Kebo » Tue Dec 08, 2009 9:30 pm

When it gets cold, my truck has a few dash lights illuminate at idle only. When I hit the throttle, they go away, one is the 'brake' light and the other is ABS.

Does anyone know what's causing this?

The vacuum sensor under the driver side hood hinge.

Or, your idle could be a little low, causing a slightly low vacuum, setting the light off.

Or the low idle screw could be too far in, causing the idle to be too low, causing the vacuum sensor to trip, causing the dash light to illuminate. Or there could be a bad connection on the vacuum line/hose. Or maybe a hole in the hose, or maybe just a bad vacuum sensor switch.

Or, maybe another half dozen things that might cause the vacuum sensor under the driver side hood hinge to trip and illuminate the dash warning light.

Hey! He's got a little yellow brake thingy in the bottom window! Is that a 93 only thing? I've never seen it on mine!

Sorry, I get easily sidetracked, ask anybody here.

I agree with Ace. Sure sounds like a low vacuum sensor.
