dana 80 hubs and wheels

Postby txs » Sun Dec 27, 2009 8:31 am

OK, got me a pair of hubs from red linear for a dana 80 rear I have, getting ready for a 1 ton build, do I need second gen dually wheels, or will the first gens work.
93 w250 6 speed 4" exhaust, caution, work truck, she's no beauty. building 1 ton dually 4x4, dana 80, 48rh, 205 Scratch the one ton, bought frt. dually 4x4 98 12 valve with the tiny rear doors. rides so much better than the 93.

1st gens use 5/8" studs, 2nd gens use 9/16" inch ones.
Also, I believe the drum and rotor faces on the 2nd gen won't let the 1st gen wheels seat properly, due to the alternately raised "coined" area on the 1st gen wheels.

I wouldn't attempt to use 1st gen wheels on them, myself.

Mark.
