What is the difference bewteen 89/90 springs and 91-93's?

Postby Bschwarzli » Thu Jan 14, 2010 6:53 am

What is the difference between the 89/90 springs and the 91-93 springs? If my memory serves, the 91 and up trucks sat higher. Can someone confirm this?

As I need to redo my springs, I am thinking I might put the 91-93 style in so the truck sits a bit higher.

Thanks!

Robert

Not sure it was the SPRINGS, as much as it was the spring BLOCKS that were different to increase suspension heights.
Some springs were heavier stacks, meaning more leaves, especially between 1 tons and 3/4 tons.

In 4x4 apps the lift block in the rear of 89,90, and some 91's was around 4 inches tall. The later W's had a taller block around 6 or so inches. Also some where along the line the spring eye bolts got bigger. My 89 has smaller bolts then my 93. With the increase of lift block size also came multiplied axle wrap. My 89 has never hopped but my 93 is in need of some traction bars.
