Possible source of leak ?

Postby MMeier » Wed Jan 27, 2010 10:08 pm

Anyone tell me if that caulk looking stuff on top of the cab around the lip could possibly leak into the top of the windshield area ? I'm thinking Safelite keeps screwing up the windshield , but .... :?

Yeah, it can. Check and see if any of it is loose. That will be the clue. But most likely they are screwing it up.
Did they seal between the body and the gasket? And they should also run a bead of silicone around the gasket next to the glass, then put the zip strip back in. Mine leaked, until they did that. It only took 3 trips to get it right too. ;)

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

After spending 4 flippin hours there at safelite this morning, hopefully they got it right. The stuff on top of the cab looks no worse then it did when I got the truck over 3 years ago. First they just shot more crap in there , open the door and WTF !! Didn't even have to drive it, it was dripping already !! So I told them no way, they check ed to see if they had another WS in town, in case they broke this one taking it out. They put in a new rubber, seal, gasket, whatever its called , see what happens next time it rains or i get happy with the pressure washer.

I feel your pain, man. I almost had to skip SOP a few years ago due to a similar incident.
