How to tell 44 from 60?

Postby dazedandconfused » Thu Jan 20, 2011 3:38 pm

Well I have a question on a frontend. It's an 8 lug dodge frontend. It does not have lockouts just smooth hubs on the front. I'm not sure what it is. I've never seen an old passenger side drop frontend without lockouts. Anybody have any ideas?

44 will have ball joints, a 60 will have king pins. A 60 will have a large hub sticking out, just like the rear axle. Can have a drive flange instead of a lockout. If the hub is flush with the single rear wheel rim, it's a 44. If it's flush with a dually rear wheel rim, it is a 60.

Ok thanks it's a 44 then. A buddy of mine asked me if I knew what it was.
