ball joint socket

does anyone know the right size of the ball joint socket there is 2 of them and im shure its the larger just makeing shure it is close to a hundred bucks so just want to be shure

I rented one when I did mine. Got it from advance auto. They had a complete set, the socket was one in there. I don't remember the cost to rent but it was free in the end.

I'd rent one too. I have both truck sizes and I can tell you that ,me doing it professionally, I've only used them maybe 5 times in 10 years. Before I had them I used a pipe wrench

I use, for my '89 D250, a SK 84689 which is 2 1/8".

I paid about 30 bucks for it at Amazon. They don't seem to have them right now, but these people do:
