Easy/Cheap Weld in Tie Downs

Postby Burritoboi5 » Mon Apr 02, 2012 6:44 pm

I thought this was creative on my part, probably been done before but what the hell. I needed some tie downs in my bed and had these quick links laying around. I just spun the link on so it engaged the threads but could still rotate, ground it down, and welded. They are rated for 3300 pounds, the bed would tear at the welds before that, and they can pivot 180 degrees. Here's to cheap 10 minute projects :wrench:

These things do have quite the lack of tie down spots in them, huh? My stake pocket bolts holes start sweating anytime I put something in my bed.

Cool mod.
