Push button start for less than the cost of a starter relay

Postby hydroshok » Wed Sep 19, 2012 7:47 pm

My starter quit working. It was making a clicking noise like the solenoid needed rebuilt so I did that. The truck still would not start and I found the problem was the relay. The contacts on the starter solenoid were pretty much toast so it needed it anyway. I priced the relay and found a push button start switch from advance for a few dollars less. You splice the red wire and brown wire in the starter relay to the switch. I mounted mine in my ashtray. All you have to do is drill a 5/8" hole and tighten it up.
