home made snorkle ?

I have been tossing around the idea of making a home made snorkle. pros: no risk of taking in water cons:hacking up fender and not liking end result,not getng enough air flow and losing power PS.I plan to keep the pipe in the fender except for the part that gos up towards the roof. Just wanted some opinions on the idea.

I would not do this based on the fact it is never a good idea to immerse an aluminum bodied injection pump running at operating temperature into cold water. Also your power steering pump cap is vented which can let water enter.

Remember gents, the Aussy's use them to keep there air cleaners from filling up with dust in there "normal" driving.
