Is not getting good heat a problem with 1st Gens? I've never had a problem with it, in fact Dallas usually tells me to turn it down after about 10 minutes. Or does this just make it get heat faster?

I love the front license plate.

my rig takes its sweet ass time about building heat. ive got half my grilel covered, and it was a noticeable improvement, but still need to cover the rest.

Some type of winter front is a great idea if you need to drive in cold weather. I also made some grill inserts that helps it warm up quicker. I found that in really cold temps (single digits and below) the best thing is simply a piece of cardboard between the I/C and radiator. That blocks the air flow to the rad even better and allows cold air over the I/C. A 14" wide piece right in the midlle is all mine needs with the inserts at -10. But you have to be careful about remembering to take it out out before it warms up!

I do what Ace did -just put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator. It does raise the EGT in the 93 just a little- I figure the cold air isnt flowing like it would normally. I DO cut a small circle in the center (6-8" or so), just to keep some air going through.

Rumblefish- have you tried a new t-stat? I dont remember if I replaced it or not. I know all the rubber parts near it got replaced.

i put a thermostat in it last winter. no change. it also seems that the blower isnt putting out as much air as i think it should. i dunno what else to do, maybe try to flush the heater core but ultimately i thin i might put one in as much as i dread the job. it does, however, make great heat with half the grill covered in 40 degree temps.
