Too little money with too much time....

So, I am gonna make all of you drool.

Yes, I will make more and sell them.

I got tired of the stock message center. So, off I went to Radio Shack, Walmart (tin snips. ) and Tractor Supply Company. I wanted something more modern and less cluttered with expanded use. And since I didn't have ABS, I took that one out! :D

Brake Warning ~ Red
Water in Fuel ~ Red
Low Fuel ~ Orange
Wait to Start ~ Green

There is BARELY enough room for 3 gauges and since I wanted to add switches, I stuck with 2. To mount, I used the screws from the back of the message center that holds the computer board on. Also, I am mounting the computer board to the back on a "frame" And it will sit 90* different than before. Think of it as opening a door inwards...

This is the cheapest Aluminum they had and I am gonna use it for a template. The next one will be symmetrical (for the OCD in all of us) and everything done in a kit per say.

Fire away!

Jon

i was intersted in doing sonethign like this with my truck. i was just wondering how you wired it to the circuit board or if you bypassed it all together. i need a place to put some gagues and i think this is a really good idea

I soldered the leads to the board and shoved the board under the dash where ever it fit.

The only thing I would recommend is adding another resistor in-line. When nothing was lit, they still had a small glow from something.

The circuit board. I pulled the lights and sockets out, soldered the wires to the board.

Instead of using resistors on mine (had the dim glowing lights when off also) I just put the bulbs back in the stock info cluster. Problem solved.

If you're still making these I'll take one with three 2 1/16" gauge holes, and lights for low fuel and parking brake. The rest of my lights aren't operational anyways.

Do you have resistors in 1 side of the LED?

Also, I do believe I traced the metal strips on the back and find 1 strip went to each one. I made sure I connected the side without the resistor to it. Also, they should all light when you put the truck to the run position.
