1st Gen 1/4 Mile times

Postby oldestof11 » Sat Oct 29, 2011 3:08 pm

List what you have and post up the pic of the slip or type it out.

Truck is a 5spd, 4.10's, aluminum 16.5's with 33x12.5, VE molested by me, DennyT Stage 1 AFC pin, 4k spring, near dead LP, rebuilt stock injectors, stock H1C turbo with 18cm housing...

My AFC reference line decided to bust on me on the 1st run. So I replaced the pin with the DennyT, only hitting 22psi, I ran my best. The stock pin at its deepest setting I was hitting 30psi but only running 16.4's...

My best today was 15.991 @ 82.44mph.

My ticket reads:

R/T .344
60' 2.124 8)
330 6.441
1/8 10.108
MPH 67.20
1000 13.271
1/4 15.991
MPH 82.44

My best R/T was .154 and best 60' was 2.124. I was cutting 2.1x to 2.22 60's all day.

I hate the shift into 3rd gear. Also, on 1 run, I missed 5th but still managed a 16.1xx... Makes me wonder. When I ran and just kept it in 4th, I ran 16.7xx and RPM's were about 32xx

Not bad Jon. I ran a 14.6 and a 14.9 last summer. I missed the shift to 3rd on the 2nd run, then it spun when I did get it in. Not bad for a 1 wheel peel. I have a slip around here someplace, good luck on finding it though! I'd like to try again with my LSD, maybe next year.

NFW!, I heard you leave, and I distinctly remember somebody saying "300hp", and your car weighs what, 1500lbs?

You might be able to get him off the line. He does have wrong wheel drive.

I think that somebody might have maybe possibly could have said 300whp. I wasn't there, so I don't know for sure. Actually I'm pretty impressed at your 14.6 with a getrag. I'm sure if you had a nv4500 you'd be in 13s since they seem to shift alot smoother/quicker in my experience.

And ya, it's wrong wheel drive fo sho. My 60' times are terrible, but I refuse to put slicks on it.

Good, you can save the money you'd spend on CV shafts and put it into your truck.

I found my slips, already on the 'bucket! 8) I guess I lied, 16.4 and a 16.5 ET. Isn't it funny how the mind changes things? I coulda swore that I was in the 14's.

No doubt, sorry about the thread wreckage.

We don't have a 1/4 mile track around here, but I ran a 10.2 in our 1/8th. That was back with just the 62mm turbo. The Getrag was being pretty rude to my front axle.

10.2 1/8 is around 15's in the 1/4.

Pete, don't talk about boning again. We know you have a fetish.

This was last year at a track that's at 15' elevation.

Image

I'm usually a tenth of a second or so slower a my regular local 1/8th mile track which is at 250ish feet elevation.

Just ran the 1/8th in 8.07 tonight at the local track (so close to 7.xx it's irritating LOL). That should result in a little quicker at that 15' 1/4th mile track with the better air. 12.7ish?

Nice Dave! I can't wait till I get that fast.

Just curious, if you stripped it down to nothing, what your time might be... 11's?

Just ran 13.1 at 118mph on one stage of nitrous....2.3 60ft :(

Once I work on the front half of my timeslip, things should get fast in a hurry. For reference, buddy of mine at the track ran an 11.1 at 121mph, so the power is there, I just need traction. Locker, Cal-Tracs, etc. are coming soon 8)
