first build was 13.7. The block we had donated had a broken cam in it when we got it. It was mag'd and everything, but just suffered. Lots of factors played a roll? Solid mount with maybe not enough support for the frame? Everything we can think of has been addressed at this point, unfortunately, that is everything we can think of, right? It's the stuff you don't think of that is the problem.

Yeah these blocks are non structural and I have seen issues before with main bearing failures when the engines were mounted solid in the frames via the stock mounting locations. In reality those side mounts are really weak and in a bad place anyways. The best mounting method is a single point in the middle in the front and two mounts off each side of the bellhousing. That puts the stresses in line and blanced. The block can essentialy have freedom without being loaded by the vehicle.

Patrick added supports at the bell housing before we went to El Mirage, next step is designing and building a new front end. I will relay this info, thank you Brian!

Most of the industrial stuff I have seen is mounted like Brian says, center front and bell housing. ;)

Do you have a picture? That would be good enough. Patrick and I are going to be designing a tube frame front clip next semester. We will just incorporate the mount points in.

Wow, I think I'd throw up if I saw that too. Low budget just went out the window. :(
