Nice one!!

I had no idea they had a FB page, but I guess just about everyone does now, huh?

What turbos are on that thing? They look pretty massive!

Thanks guys! I was just thinking about starting a thread (since it has a 93 block, that makes it a 1stgen, RIGHT??)

TC, the turbos are Turbonetics ceramic ball bearing types, top turbo being a 64mm inducer, bottom a 106mm. BIG. Need better cooling too.

Now the team can't wait till NEXT year for our return to Speed Week in August. We might actually be able to make it to the start line before 50 minutes before the end of the competition!!! The plan is to build a tube frame front end this spring/early summer, get some testing in at the local track, and actually beat the petro diesel record of 215.091!

Oh yeah, those are pretty big, huh?

What was the setup in the first pic? 351 and 451?

Surely this build could be skimmed through in "other diesels" for our poor members with no FB. I didn't realize how serious it was 'till I saw those rods and the quick change rearend.

I don't have any of the pics from the build on the ol' laptop, a build thread will have to wait until school is out or something anyway.

That's pretty cool. Any idea how much the nose lifts at full speed?

Thanks ellis.

Not yet.We have an air dam that will keep the nose from lifting at all, but need to get proper bump stops in place before running with it. The data logging system will have full control of the ride height sensors on all four corners once they are mounted. That was just low on the priority list for this year. We had our hands full just getting/keeping the truck running! It cracked two cylinders and pistons after the third run! Had it back up and running in two weeks for the next event, but that one was cancelled due to weather unfortunately.

Cracked two cylinders and pistons? Sounds like you must be running near stock compression with tons of boost. For a good twin setup running flat out like that I think 13.5-14.0 would be a good place to be to avoid excessive cylinder pressures and still make gobs of power. Boost will effectively raise your compression ratio anyways.
