3:07 gears

Would 3:07 gears make my truck faster ?
89 d250 getrag ripper, pump maxed,timed to the head,pull cable shutoff, 354 spring, straight pipe, 4:10 gears, in the shop: he351cw and 3:07 gears
90 w350 nv4500,ic motor, stock, 5" stack w a western hauler on back

you can only get them used now. i coulnt find any when i crunched my last set
91 4x4 with the 727, has the factory tach!
Boost gauge installed 27psi, new exhaust manifold here just not on yet. Pyro installed all glowshift units. 173 HP baseline before poor mans 4 inch dp

Keep in mind that the 3.07s need the D61 and D71 axle. I don't think you can go from 4.10s to 3.07s. You'd need a whole different rear end. The 3.07 gears are physically bigger I believe

i have my old 3.07 ring and pinion if you need some measurements done.....
91 4x4 with the 727, has the factory tach!
Boost gauge installed 27psi, new exhaust manifold here just not on yet. Pyro installed all glowshift units. 173 HP baseline before poor mans 4 inch dp

Snagged a rear end today for $150 yeehaw! What should i check/replace before i bolt It up? Thanks

I'd go ahead and rebuild it personally. New bearings and seals since the 3.07 gears are getting harder to find.
