2nd 4 low is all you will be able to do.

I bring the RPMs up to 2000-2200, let the idle drop but keep the same throttle position as I let out the clutch, by 20-30 ft I have the skinny pedal mashed and the clutch engaged. I have pulled 5 times and numerous passes on the stock clutch and it still holds true.

A couple of tricks I'd try are throw weight in the bed and passenger side of the cab. I doubt they'll let you hang weight, but these trucks are super light and they could use it. I'd also try to slide the hitch up as far as they allow to get better weight transfer.

Also, just my $.02, I wouldn't pull on a brand new clutch. I'd tear up the old one

Put a tool box in it, put wood under it so it dont break the box sides or the tool box. Stuff it full of heavy crap and say thats how you drive around all the time. Put the tractor weights at the bottom and chains / jacks etc on top. I had my stock clutch burn up 90ft out years ago, never slipped once till then, $.02. The smell lasted 2 weeks. How I don't miss those early days.

I have chain, a couple bottleneck jacks, a "racing" jack, a turbo, and various tools in mine. Only got me 6200lbs at the last pull. The guy asked me what class I was pulling. "Stock Diesel" I told him. His response: "Do YOU know what class you are pulling AGAINST?!?!?" I laughed and told him I was there for a good time. He laughed and said that is what mattered.

Takes a lot of power or a very loose track to pull 3rd with 3.54 on a 205.

I will also be pulling tomorow. Hopefully it don't bounce.

Pulled twice this weekend, first time I weighed 7200 lbs in an 8500 work stock class, only pulled 49 feet. the sled was a "drop" sled and the track was dry and loose. had 70 psi in all my tires.

had plenty of rpm/wheel speed/power.

second pull, third gear, low, sidestepped the clutch, brought the front tires down to 10 psi, rears at the same pressure. pulled 104 feet. dont think i could pull 3rd on a track that is sticky

pretty happy actually, beat a few 600 hp duramax's the second time around. clearly it was all about traction this weekend and whoever didnt have it, did not do well.

ive got some videos I can post.. will do later
