Went to my local track for the first time.

Postby hemislave » Mon Jun 10, 2013 1:39 pm

My local 1/8 mile drag strip had its first anual Diesel Shootout this past Saturday. I decided to go at the last minute. There were only about 10 trucks that showed up.So my buddy and a couple of other regular drag racers enterd their tow rigs that made about 14 diesel trucks(mine being the oldest) Any way I think I made all of us 1st genners proud,I WON IT!!! I certainly wasn't the fastest. But I wasn't the slowest one either. My best et was a 10.66 at a whopping 62MPH. My best reaction time was a .039 my worst was a snooozing .530  Now keep in mind I've been down a track with my truck exactaly one time before this.If anyone is interested go to Kanawha Valley Dragways website pics should be up.

No kidding, where are you from again?

I went to the pulls at the fairgrounds instead of that, my truck leaks way too much for them to let me on a strip.

Congrats on the win!

Yup, didn't pull the truck but I was there. I pass a 92-93 W350 every morning on rt2 and we give each other the wave. I saw it and a stock 89-90 W250 in the pits there. Pretty good pulls, lots of trucks. I was regretting not bringing mine, considering they both looked completely stock, then towards the end of the night I noticed they never pulled and I don't think the tech guys even popped the hoods on the trucks. They just lumped everything that wasn't a egit puller into one class.
