good day in the rain

Postby seeker1056 » Mon Jul 21, 2008 5:13 am

well we took the ol truck out on Sunday to the pulls.

Even with my daughters bf as a rookie driver it made fifth place in the mud - as it hadrained all day and only let up long enough to get the pull in.

was only a couple feet between first and fifth

Got beat by a pp truck a couple chipped truckes and a Ford that was chipped

Still need more tire - hit second gear at about a hundred feet and blew the tires out from under it just as soon as boost hit 45 lbs

 ;)

oh and this is on last years setup as I havnt had time to put any of the new equipment listed in my signature on the truck except the 6x18's

All in all a good day

Congrats on the pull. I know you will get it figured out and when you do look out, because I am sure that it is going to pull like no other. I am glad you are sticking with the VE pump.

Nah we went to Lakefield - home boys over strangers right

Got third after twistin up the drive shaft like a pretzel at 290 ft - man the truck was smokin - coasted almost 5' after it broke - you couldnt peel the grin off the driver if ya tried

Did you ever get your drive pressure issues fixed? 295' is awesome. Sounds like the 6x18's are working well. How's the converter in your C6 holding up?

no I havnt had time to do anythng with the truck, so 48 psi boost n about 60 psi drive pressure - but if I have time this week putting a big single on so I can compete in Pro Street for the rest of the season.

I will get all the pieces I have accummulated that are in my signature, installed this winter, and put the big twins on the n make a dyno run n see what I can do.

I'm curious to hear how a big single runs on a VE-pumped truck in a sled pulling app. Since the VE is rpm limited, it seems like it would be hard to keep a big single lit. Good luck and let us know how it works.
