posi

Has anyone ever tried running a dana 60 rear posi in our dana 60 front ends? Would it work? It would be running backwards so I'm not sure if it would. I want to go sled pulling when I get this truck done but still want to be able to use it as a truck so I don't want to spool or weld the front, and lockers aren't cheap. Any info would be a great help. Thanks.

no matter what happens just do not weld the spiders. specially if your gonna do any street driving or pulling. you'll snap the weld and prlly the pin and break some teeth on the spiders and once those chunks get in there prolly the ring and pinion so just dont do that. honesty though i dontk now for sure but i dont see why it wouldnt work to put a posi in the front. everythings the same except the direction of rotation and the gear cut. but it should work the same.

If you spool the front it will still drive like normal with the hubs unlocked. If you need to use 4x4 any where but in a straight line it would suck though. With as many 60's as there are out there you might be able to find a used locker for a good deal. Just a thought.

I like the ARB lockers for a 4wd front axle application. You've got a locked diff at the flip of a switch offroad. Then it's an open diff again with another flip of the switch when you get back on the street. Only downside is you need onboard air to run them. Just more complicated and expensive.
