Time for new turbo!

Postby ryanihf250 » Mon Sep 15, 2008 4:02 pm

On my first pull last month I blew stock turbo. There are so many different options out there. I was wondering what might work best for my truck. Our classes can run nitrous so I can give it a sniff to help the turbo spool. I know many people are running Custom S-300 but I would like other options. Has anyone tried a Stage II turbonectics on a 1st gen.
I just don't want to buy a turbo that I can't spool
Thanks
Ryan

A Garrett Gt4088R would be a great turbo for you probably. It would support a set of big EDM sticks and a 14mm h/r. It should light pretty fast as it has a 64mm (aprox) inducer and a ball bearing center section. My turbo is a journal bearing 64/71/14 and it lights like nothing. I spin her up to 50psi no problem. It would be a fairly expensive turbo as it has the ball bearings but give her a try and let us know.
