Postby peobryant » Tue Oct 21, 2008 11:07 am

Cummins King, in your sig, you said your Dyno day was October 18th. Did you get the truck on the rollers?

I was waiting for somebody to call me on it. No, i didn't make it, i was very upset. Reason being, was i had to work, and i didn't have my new set of injectors. But all is okay as soon as i get my truck running again (tomorrow i hope) i will dyno. So this week or the latest next week.

I was told some local guy sent his duramax down to California and spent 20gs on the motor and it dyno around the 780 hp mark.

you should beat that easy, with the exchange rate factored in.

the last thing i have to do to this truck is o ring head and studs.

the head is torqued to 125ftpd's

the truck runs great and the turbos are awesome.

I know this may sound far fetched but i would like to be in the 700's hp, on #2 only.

I don't see why i shouldn't, but we will see

I wont be dynoing this week, but defiantly next week, this way i will have more time to set the truck up.

KTA, the 1st Gen Master only put 627hp down, so I would agree that 700hp is a little far fetched. But I hope you put down some good numbers. Best of luck to ya'

Whooooo
I got the truck running, with the 14mm h&r and the 4mm cam plate.
It RAN really well, better then the 12mm h&r with the 4mm cam.

I also got my boost regulated fuel pressure working, my rpm gauge working properly again, and also a manual oil pressure gauge, witch shows great oil pressure.

And this is why i said RAN great.....

I took it out for a spin, got passed the lights and gave it less then half throttle, it built boost like mad to 45psi, and then i heard a pop, and a crap load of white smoke came pouring out of the back. So im 99% sure it is the HG, i don't think its a turbo. Is there any way to check?

I knew it was going to happen sooner or later but i was hoping to get on the dyno first. Oh well gives me something to fix.

you check it with a compression tester. It sounds like the head gasket blew between your cylinder and a coolant passage. I don't know what testers run for on these trucks though.

you could also pressure check the coolant system instead of a compression test.

Good think mprmn08. I'm surprised CK doesn't have both the tools already.

Oh, and since the head is coming off and you'll probably send it out for o-ringing(or at least i would) might as well port it and get a new cam. Lol, jk.
