Saturday Night at PIR

Postby soggy » Mon Mar 23, 2009 12:51 pm

I got to see what the beater would do in the 1/4 at the NHRDA event in Portland last weekend. I also got to meet member dstad, which was nice.

This is the first run. I ran 2wd and lost traction as you can see by the second puff of smoke. It ended up being 16.2 @86. Got beat by the powerstroke, he was running in the 14.4 range.

This one I left in 4wd with no boost and got 15.7 @ 86.

The last one I left the line in 4wd @ 1-2 lbs boost and ended up with a 15.4 @ 86. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DO3JYtNT53g

Mods i have done are as follows: Full power screw, no afc foot, 3200 spring, 3/16 timing, custom intake horn, HE341, 4in exhaust. Stock: tranny, I/C injectors and lift pump. The HP calculator over at CompD says I'm putting about 270 to the ground. I punched in the weight at 6200 lbs. All in all I'm satisfied for what i have into it.

Nice runs. I showed up late and missed seeing you on the track. I didn't run since I had just got my truck back together. Member Schandler made a couple passes at the end of the night, his truck is red and gray, mine is silver, it was hiding out in the parking lot. Wish I woulda shown up sooner , I might have had a chance to say hi.

Schandler ran a 16.8. Last summer I was able to put down a 15.8 leaving really softly in 2wd. I've made some changes since then so I should be able to do a little better know. 8) If I can figure out how to get my cold blooded engine to come up to temp in the staging lanes I am more than willing to run it, I'm thinking about pulling the fan to see if it will come up to temp with a high idle.

The first run was in 2wd and was 16.88 at 81.64. The second run was 16.579 at 83.25 in 4wd. I leave at about 2000rpm or so. The clutch won't handle a boosted launch. I was building up the courage to run the truck since the clutch slipped bad last July when I ran it.
