500hp has been broken again, on DTR, out west

Postby bgilbert » Sun Apr 05, 2009 6:37 pm

Theres a guy on DTR that just broke 500hp 1000ftlbs with his non-lockup built auto, 5x14's, and a large single turbo fuel only. Used an s510 as a single. I'm pulling my getrag as you read this in favor of a 727.

When my 89 was done I got 297. How the hell do you know when you get a good one. NO IM NOT GOING TO DUNBARS. I ran after a bone stock non i/c with a rag and he got 166 hp. That sounds close to me. I just figured if his was correct mine should be also. Same machine, same operator.

Is there any remote possibility that a VE with 5x.014's and no drugs could light a 510?

Seriously?

If the dyno was also in Showlow, that's 6200' elevation. That would equate to a 20% correction around these parts.

Yes, it's got a big turbo and ported head so who knows?

All he probably needs to do is check his dyno sheet for a correction factor or not.

Congrats and sounds sweet! Where is the dyno sheet? I figure even with a good cam and head getting that S510 going on its own below 3500rpm will be a challenge. 8)

5-14's are common to p-pumps. Sure there wasnt a conversion done? Most guys on here with a lot more injector are barely making those numbers. If its real, right on another good run!

Can 5x.014's even stand a chance to light a S-510 with a built P-pump?

I thought it took one heck of a P-pump to light a S-400 series turbo.

Unrelated, but my brother dynoed his '97 yesterday. 716rwhp, single turbo, fuel only. I know it's a P-Pump but those are still pretty good numbers. He says hes going to put twins on next.

As for the guy in the DTR, I highly doubt he hit 500rwhp. I want to see the dyno sheet.

Dyno sheets are only as good as the guy punching in numbers on the computer. I am sure thats what they told him. They also told me I had 780 foot pounds of torque, YA RIGHT. I think my horsepower pull was close but the torque run was way off.
