Pulltilbrokes 09 pullin thread

Postby pulltilbroke » Sun Jun 21, 2009 12:23 am

Well I hooked for the first time this season and for my standards did awesome I went 299'5" and ended up 5th out of I think 8 trucks and I was runnin stock stock sticks!
I tryed runnin 1st high then I tryed 2nd low and smoke the stock Sachs both times then tryed 1st low and shifted to 2nd and was suprised nothing scattered. The track was super sticky and the sled was hard to get rollin but once you did you could put the power down.

I was supposed to hook again in the 8500lb class but we got rained out[yuk]

BTW I hung 1600lb off the front

Heres my 7700lb hook, listen close at the beginning and you can hear me shift[guitar] I think I also earned a new nickname tonite also it is Mr. Shifter

I was surprised you slipped the clutch in 1st high. What ratio do you have?
Looks like fun. The truck looked like it was smooth and the chassis worked real well. Nice hook.

I got 3.55s. The sled was sittin in a hole at the start and was hard to get moving, there was a few trucks that couldn't even get it rollin, they just sat there and spun the tires

I'm loving the STS's though :D

When I grabbed 2nd it started to bounce a little but smoothed out after I got rollin

After watchin the pyro in your in cab video I'm thinkin I don't need to pull with my truck. Look's like things get a little warm, but I guess that's normal with pullin trucks.

I have seen mine hit about 1550 for a second on the street once. I guess 1600 isn't too bad.

That lil kid is lucky he doesn't have a driveshaft side the head. Kinda not a safe place to run. I had a guy break a shaft by me once and it was scary.

I was thinking that too. We had a truck breal an axle shaft a few weeks ago and it made a HARD left turn and luckly we have jersey walls. If anyone was in teh way they would not have gotten out of there.
