so i pulled with my truck last weekend and had mixed results the truck pulled smooth never spun the wheels untill the sled stopped me i think my converter sucked up all my power because it never reved high first run i pulled a 199.9 with 6400lbs on the sled and second run i turned the fuel screw in one more turn (two turns) and pulled a 210.5

i need more power !! im a college student so i dont have much money but what is the next big buy i should look into to make my truck pull better and beat some more powerchokes?

i have two videos of my pulls but dont know how to up load them...

If you get to try again I would put in 4 low and rev out 1st then slip into 2nd and see what happens. Our trucks with the 3.07's are pretty numb in high range. When I plowed with my other 89 I always used low range. You will see a big difference and your tranny will be much more happy.

HUH. I watched again and heard no shifts. Thats why I thought you were running high range. I would have thought it would have turned more revs. Don't know.

yeah I was definitly in 4 low I made sure on my truck 4 low is all the way forward past neutral (as it is on any 205) and thats where i put it either the converter in my truck is so bad it couldent handle anything or or.... i dont really know... im kinda stumped one would think that the converter being no good(fluid coupling issues in the converter fans)... would lead it to make the truck rev but just put no power to the ground am i wrong??

your converter is hurting you. Thats why you didn;t here teh shift richie. It goes right to 3000 rpm or so and stays there through the shift.

2700 rpm is all it revd to from 10 feet of the line i pushed my foot through the floor and i never heard a shift except to second which was of the line I think not that the truck didnt pull well, it was smooth cool never sounded weird didnt just spin the tires it was all i could ask for , i just feel like a little more could be tapped out of the truck in stock form

basically i win , nothing broke yet when the truck comes out of hybernation and the snow melts it will have a new converter fuel pin gov spring and probably a turbo either an hx35 or 60mm upgrade to my hc1

boost gauge and pyro went in both gauges are things i had laying around the shop (tried to get my dads 5 inch peterbuilt pyro but he didnt like the idea)...biggest project was drilling holes i took of the stock crossover tube and drilled the boost in just before the grid heater, for the pyro i took the turbo off cause i had nothing to do and thought it would atleast be good to take the whole thing off before winter comes and it becomes a ball of rust the pyro never goes below 300 degrees ...probably why its a spare in my garage , and the boost only goes to 25 psi...which my little hc1 is now maxing out at WOT anyways 2 new gauges will be in this weekend ...progress continues and the big gray dodge is now faster than my dads 24 valve 6 speed ...that i can thanks Denny T for

Well, basically my trucks don't go under 300 degrees. And 25 psi of boost is about 8 to 10 over what it had stock.
