She looks and sounds real good Rich. 8)

Now it's time you get a real turbo on there. So, what is more fun to drive, the '89 or '93? :D

Well I can see someone was bored in the MIDDLE of the night. :D
It depends. I like them both depending on what the situation is. From a dead stop the 89 really goes nice. I will say the standard gives you a feeling of power just because its hooked direct ( no convertor slush ). Hands down, hauling or fun go with the rag, speed wise auto is much faster. I like them both and am glad I have 1 of each.

What do you mean middle of the night? It was only 4:00 AM.

I've always liked manuals better, but when my brother bought his '03 Common Rail with a $6K Suncoast 48RE, I have to say that thing was nice. Plus his 3rd Gen rides so much nicer than my truck, but he has no power anything. He got a deal though, it was only $11K, hell his tranny cost more than half of that.

Any plans for a converter for your '89? She'd really scoot down the track after that. You need to bring the '93 to the track too, and video that. 8)

The 93 at an 1/8th mile. I actually went faster in 2 wheel drive with tire slip. I was easy on the clutch this run because I was in 4x4.

I don't think I will be upgrading my stock convertor. I think I will just keep my eyes open for a 518 and a set of 354 axles. I don't want to dump a ton of money in a 3 speed when the rear 3.07 gear sets are rare. I have already blown 2 rears up. 1 in this truck and 1 in another I had.

I remember seeing that video. Has she gotten a paint job since then, or is she covered in the dyno video?

Makes sense about the 3.07's, but I'd look for a 47rh over a 518. 8)

No paint yet, maybe next year, maybe not.

I know on the 47rh. I had a chance to buy a 95 cummins auto truck complete with a plow in good running order for 1500 bucks. It was rusty so thats why the price was so low. Just didn't have the bucks. I also had an option for a 518 with a goerend, transfer case, set of 3.54 axles, all driveshafts and a under 200,000 mile engine for around the same price. I always find deals when I have no money.
