Best Getrag pulling clutch?

Postby motorwood » Sun Jul 11, 2010 9:30 pm

I'm gonna pull my 92. Whats the best pulling clutch that fits a Getrag? Not looking to spend a huge amount of money and clutch needs to look stock from the outside (class doesnt allow slipper clutches) Drivability isn't an issue since this is a playtoy.

Did some checking, Do I have this right 89-94 clutches are the same (1 1/4 X 10spline) for Getrags and 4500's and these are all "non ETH" whatever that means. So I could use my LUK that I bought for my 3rd gen if I had the correct flywheel and a starter spacer?

I bought a 2 disk carbon ceramic with a billet flywheel from Kennys Pulling Parts. Install went well, very fun to be able to go full throttle and hold it. Gonna pull on 2 Oct, 2010 at MontAlto, PA

Have pulled the ole War Wagon 4 or 5 times this year. I pull against trucks with twice or more horespower. My goal was to not finish last and have fun. Have accomplished both! Cant wait to put the POD's and H1C/E combo to the test April 2011. It feels mighty strong!

How is the Kennys clutch to drive?.. do you have to float the gears without the clutch, or do you shift like a regular single disk?.. I had an enterprise dual disk pulling clutch in my excursion etc it had to float shifted. I'm looking to get one for my truck I just pulled a good getrag froma my parts truck. I have to pull my broken getrag tommarrow..what was the price range on the kennys?
Thanks

sorry guys, i havnt checked this in a while. Stock hydraulics work with no problem(4000lb plate). Shifts like a stock clutch, just a little grabby at takeoff. Highly reccomend Kenny's
