Weight

Postby redneckroot » Thu Aug 05, 2010 9:07 pm

We have been tossing the idea around of a purpose built pulling truck. If we build one we'd like to stick to the 1st gen body style. What I'm looking for are the known weights of the different trucks. I know my regular cab ctd is roughly 5700. Does anyone know what a W350 extended cab is? Or a 4 door long box?

My reg cab aluminum flat bed weighs around 5700. A ex friend has a 92 W250 ext cab that weighed 6700. Its a farm truck though so it had a tool box and a bunch of crap in it. Probably weighed about 63 or 6400 empty.

The Moonlight diesel truck more or less is a single rear wheel version of a w350. Its the slickest looking 1st gen puller I know of, and of course the body of it is about the only thing left that is 1st gen.

That truck runs really good from the video's I've seen. Are they still running a stock style frame or is it a tube deal? Any idea what year/model ford truck had the dana 60 with the pinion on the driver side?

I believe all 99 up Fords have drivers side pinions. Be careful though that the truck has a 60 in it as Ford uses Dana 50's as well. I think the moonlight truck uses a regular frame, but it may have lots of boxing or it might be stock I don't know. I hear Terry the owner is a nice guy I am sure you can contact him and find out.
