Best of 286/601 today.

- Typical VE stuff (3200 spring, fuel screw pretty far in, stock pin rotated to the deep side)
- 2nd gen intercooler (originally non-intercooled)
- HX35
- Cummins low pressure piston lift pump
- 4" intake with stock filter
- 4" exhaust
- Refreshed 518 (Suncoast converter, TFOD shift kit)

The first (lower) run was in direct and the better run was in O/D. Still hasn't melted or exploded

I'm not sure why they plotted that run against mph instead of rpm, but I'll just figure it out with some math.

Those are some good torque numbers for a non lockup auto!!! Even with a aftermarket converter. I normally brake load my truck hard at 45mph and that's where my runs start. I never got that hp/tq ratio you got!!! Right on.

All of my Dyno graph are in mph, while some of my friends were in rpm. The weird thing is they all had standard Trans trucks.

Sometime, I'll find a dyno that will let me run it myself. It seems especially with a mechanical truck, the dyno operator doesn't load it (or sometimes flat out beat in it) like the owner would.

Can't complain too much though :)

I did some figuring and in O/D, every 20 mph is 500 rpm. So 80 mph is about 2000 rpm and 100 mph is about 2500 rpm.

I checked my engine tag and Cummins rated the peak power to come in at 2500 rpm. Now I wish it'd been run out to 90 or 100 which would be about 2250-2500 rpm.

I'm extrapolating the line by eye, and dang does it look like I could have cracked 300 hp and 625-ish torque if it got ran out.
I would be beside myself if I cracked 300 hp with injectors that have never been out of the head.

Yeah he should've run it out further, at least til the tires came apart ;) . You'll know now to do all the runs in OD while on a dynojet. It'd been different if you had 35's, OD and 3.07's. Oh the dyno fun.. 8)

Dyno tomorrow, 4th gear or 5th on a load type? I know it's been discussed but I can't remember which is better.

Direct for load type, OD for dynojet.

I'm slightly bent. Best number was 399.87 hp. I could tell the dyno wasn't loading good, and the turbo wasn't spooling good down low. I went 1st, and during the day the dyno guy came and said if I was going to be around when they were done we could put my truck back on because he figured out how to load it. He put the brake on some to build boost and then let it go. I went again and my best number was 395. It was loaded that time, I cleaned most of the soot from the pipes and blew it all over the shop. When I get the dyno sheet loaded I'll put it up here. I haven't looked at it real close yet. I did have a fun day, and only 1 ford showed up. He did 912 hp and 1200 torque though. 6.4 with a stock bottom end in it.
