Go easy on me Brian; I'll always be a newbie compared to you.
I thought you did the 480 with a ported cylinder head? I don't remember. If you can get some more cc's out of my pump, I'll be glad to send it to you. Since PDR rebuilt it this summer it has not had the umph it used too. :x

62/71/14; Yes. Towed yet; no. I know it will be as good or better than the last turbo (64/65/14). Spoolup is the same or better than the old setup. They are that close.

Don; I don't use corrected rwhp numbers as they are not accurate. You have to watch hp numbers with guys in the Rocky Mountain states. That goes for May Madness too. I have seen correction factors anywhere from 10-27%. I guarantee you if I were to run on David Dunbars dyno near sea level, it would probably be very to close to my uncorrected numbers.
The correction factor was something like 15% yesterday; accurate for a naturally aspirated engine but not for a turbocharged engine.
When I hand calculate my 1/4 times and speed against my weight, the corrected numbers usually match, which is flywheel horsepower.

I need to go to Autozone. Recieved an email today saying my truck is in Diesel World this month. Gotta check it out.

Does anybody know who Jeremy T is? I was just looking around on PDRs sight and saw where he put down 680 with water/meth and a ve at the 1st gen rally in '05.

I might as well chime in...DDP4 injectors, fuel screw 3 turns. 264/500 through the stock 727. Stock intake and exhaust. More to come :)

Dynoed my 92 today for the first time. Mustang dyno, no correction factor, vehicle weight was set at 10k pounds, pulls done in 4th gear (in a 5spd). Made 262 hp & 720 ft lbs. :2cool: Mods: +3 turns to fuel screw, re-indexed throttle shaft (for low idle adjustment), fully backed out high idle screw, custom billet *cough* zip tie *cough* throttle cable spacer at throttle pedal to achieve full travel, DDP fuel pin, BHAF, 4" exhaust, and some minor tweaking of the smoke screw and starwheel. I'll post the chart later. HP and torque were both done by 2200rpms. Guess it's time for the 3200rpm governor spring  . I should probably also install the fuel pressure gauge I bought 6 months ago and make sure the fuel pump is keeping up.

As promised, my dyno chart from 3/8. After the first run, the dyno operator recalibrated his computer because the numbers were a lot higher than I was expecting. The two runs were at least consistent. Accurate, I don't know. I do know that there were other trucks there that posted numbers similar to what they have done before so I am ok with the testing methods. Comments?Image

Fuel supply is completely stock right now. I didn't figure I'd need to upgrade without even getting new injectors. I have a fuel pressure gauge that I need to plug in. I think I'm going to have to go to a flexible line on the afc to get my sender to work though. So, for now I'm collecting parts. I'll get the fuel pressure gauge in and change out the fuel filter (it's been on there for several months) and see if it's a supply problem or if it's something else.

I've just recently completed installing a ported head. :D

Yeserday, my Son and I went over to Greensboro and spun the rollers with a few DTR members (Great Folks).

. . . 363 HP with 685ft/lbs torque on #2 . . . ..

And 395 HP with 725ft/lbs torque on #2 and W/M . . . .

where were u guys?

Thanks Don. Yeah, it was a "Fire Hazard" day in Greensboro, NC at Foreign Automotive Specialties.

With similar RH's I managed to make six passes down at the local 1.8th mile track and averaged the high 8.8's @ 75mph.

Still working on it.

With this dyno event, I removed the TPS assembly from the top of the AFC leaving it connected electrically. With that, the transmission goes into OD VERY early and one pretty-much can't get it to drop out with flooring the throttle. As such, I brought the heap up to 40 (+)mph in OD to begin the run (tach presents with less than 1000rpm).

Flooring it has the engine do the typical ramp-up billowing smoke as the engine begins to come up in speed. A second or so later, the turbo lights and immediately clears the smoke and the engine accelerates on up to 3200rpm (about 120+/- mph road speed I think). You can clearly see/hear it do this in the video. The initial belch of smoke prior to the turbo lighting, then the plume of smoke gets blown out of the way with the turbo coming on-line.

I kind of think the graphs are not fully accurate in illustrating the torque jumping with the turbo lighting. I can see very well the engine jump to the right with the truck twisting a little when the turbo spools.
Further, when I'm drag racing, I'll build 10psig boost and launch in 4wd. Shoving a 6400lb truck 60' in 1.85 seconds seems to contradict the plots.

Perhaps the non-lockup converter is skewing things. . . . ?

There are no issues with drivability. Runs just fine AFAIK. No part throttle issues. 70mph presents with about 700*F ~ 800*F with boost around 8 ~ 9psig. I got 200 miles out of roughly just above 1/2 tank to just below 1/4 tank driving to and from the dyno event.

Frankly, I'm sorta stumped as to what I could tune. I do want to clean up the AFC low boost smoke (I think that's gonna require a different spring) else the fuel screw's in just this side of run-away. Static injection timing is dead on 2.0mm. I do race with the KSB energized.

The PDR HX35 hybrid w/14cm is gated at 38psig.

I think, . . .. I need a lot more air. :D

Bill's right, I am going to go through here maybe tomorrow and delete all posts that don't talk about dyno numbers and how they were gotten. That was the point of this sticky. If you want the discussions to remain copy and paste them to a new topic.

Yeah I know who he is! LOL... I have been a little quiet lately. My pickup is back in the shop and hopefully when is gets out I can break 700hp with a little help. Good things come to those who wait right?

I have all of my dyno sheets from the very first one back in 2002 when I dynoed 342hp with propane 317 on #2 only if it would help anyone. I should also have what mods were done at the time of putting my pickup on the dyno if that would help anyone.

I think it is funny 2005 was a good year for both Brian and I, but nothing has come about since then and it has been 2+ years. Maybe I should pull the rabbit out of my sleeve.
