Andy, I've heard the same about the Stage IV. I know my EGT's go thru the roof after 3k rpms. It must be out of the map range, time for twins!

Pete, the thing is I'm only pushing 35psi which I know is at about the peak of its efficiency range. My egts only got to about 1550 which in any sledpullers mind is fairly cool yet

As for twins that would put me in a whole other league when it comes to pulling and I just don't have the coin to put a set together right now.

Only 35? I'm pushing 42-44 when I'm all into it. When I hit 3k it's 1200* and the pyro and tach go up together almost 1-1. At 3500 it's 1600*, and that's unloaded.

On the street it will blast up to 35 then creep to about 40. I've seen low boost and egt's since I put the 2nd gen cooler in but with the same seat of the pants feel.

Driving really nice, I could average 18MPG on my commute to work. It's mostly highway and that was with two stroke oil mixed in. Somewhere I posted about my EGT's before and after the super 40. I could hit 40psi and pop a head gasket on command when the engine was cold. :yuck: The one benefit of the super 40 over a hybrid, is that it has a larger exhaust wheel, and a 4" outlet to help keep your drive pressure and egt's down.
I could be talking out my arse hear, but I really think I'm right. :finger:

Lance, I have an NV4500

Gearjammer, that makes sense, you wouldn't happen to know the minor and major diameter of the exhaust wheels on a H1c and a super 40 would ya?

That graph is weird the way it jumps up and down during your run. I suppose if all the other trucks have similar results its fine. When I was running my stock trans auto we related that to the clutches grabbing and then letting loose as the converter flashed.

Just found it interesting.

All the graphs looked like that sticks and autos. I don't know what the deal was.

I did some research and the "ideal" hx 40, which is what mine should of been, is supposed to be 60/65/16. http://www.htturbo.com/MatchingHighTechTurbos.pdf There's some info here on drive pressure and stuff.
I'm still looking for the number on the H1C.
it looks like the H1C is a 50/60/-whatever size exhaust housing you are running.

That's how I understand it. So your only down 5mm on the exhaust side. It doesn't sound like much, but it could be causing high drive pressure and holding you back.

I like it when it sounds like I know what I'm talking about.

Sounds like i might have to plumb in a drive pressure guage. A 100psi guage should be enough right?
