Do you have an afc lever in place? Ground or stock? I never did install a stock afc lever, I was too lazy and kept the ground lever in. I would run that starwheel all the way up, don't worry about coil bind, thats where I ran mine. You said it starts coming on around 2k rpm, that's actually pretty good. How about timing? Jumped a tooth yet?

Pump is stock inside except for the governor spring, got a 3200 in it. Timing is about 1.85 mm of lift (IIRC), not jumped. I was going to check the timing to make sure where it is, but I'm pretty sure it's at 1.85 or so.

How to figure coil bind is just a measurement away. Depth micrometer and a dial caliper and a little math will give you a spot on number to use to avoid coil bind....or so I think :?

Or I could push it to the bottom and flip the diaphragm up and see where it's at. That's your Government training at work right there buddy!

Advise of the day: Don't put your timing on a switch, if you're going to forget to turn it on.

My truck put down a wicked, nasty, HOT, SMOKEY..... 378/811.....wait for it....on stock timing. Ok, maybe not stock, but damn close (about an 1/8 bump).

I was wondering why I was spiking my boost pressures 10 psi higher than normal.

That's as bad as me turning mine on in the morning to cut some prewarm smoke, and getting almost to work and realizing I left it on. I wondered why the truck rattled so bad, lol.

The stupid thing was.... I had it on, and then they said "turn the truck off".... so by habit I had turned the toggle off too.

Some where around here, I've got video of the AFC reference tube flying around while on the dyno.

Oh, this is 55psi peaking.... holding 48 (gate at 45)... spinning up to 3800rpms..... with stock valve springs.

Oh, and I'm flat footing it. So as soon as you hear an engine tone change.... it is spooling the charger that fast. I love this 62fmw (little advertising there, )

Way to live dangerously. I'd do the same thing. That thing burns cleaner than my 4th gen.

I think you may end up shipping one of those 62 fmw's to my house one of these days

Keep in mind that they had an exhaust "re director" over my exhaust.... I blew it off half way through the 2nd run. You can see it smoke in the 3rd. In the 2nd, when you start seeing smoke is at full boost.

Yeah my 4th gen puts out a huge black cloud that clears up to a rather thick stream. Then my pyro hits over 1900*

Indeed. And that's with a lot of timing. I find I don't really want to know what it'd hit with some of the other timing maps I've run
