I have an extremely hard time stopping for the first turn to get off the track lol, but I'm hoping with some more trans parts so i can leave harder to break into the 12s, and alot lower 8s.

Well i got bit tonight, me and the boy went to the local 1/8th to watch a few runs, when
we were leaving this dude pulls up on a 4 wheeler and says ( do you want to run it ) i say
i didn't pay, he says i own the track and want to see it run.

sooooo i pull up to the tree and fell a sleep for a while.

reac 1.405
60ft 2.36
330 6.57
594 9.55
1/8th 10.19 @ 70 mph

does this mean if i could stay awake at the tree i could run 9.1 and maybe boost it a bit and be
in the high 8's

forgive me guys it's been 22 years since the last time i went down the track

Your reaction-time has zero impact on the ET.

It's been my experience that, to knock off a tenth of a second, each comes at a steeply rising cost. Emphasize STEEP.

I laugh at myself when I think of the crap I've busted taking this last tenth off to get to my current 8.05 in the eighth (@ 250ish feet elevation).

Good luck.

Thanks David...as i said i'm rustier than a northern 1st gen.

Jon ..no i went to Benton ILL (I 57 raceway).

i feel like i could cut off 1maybe 2 tenths as i did a zero bosted launch and went in 2 WD.

anyhooooo it's not really important as i really have to keep my truck going down the road
and keep it where i can tow pretty heavy, and normaly fast race truck don't work well with
a heavy goosneck.

M880, nice times!

Here are 3 of my runs from this weekend.

I have open front and rear diffs. I launched at 3200-3500 rpms with no substantial load.

When the truck drops and lifts, 2nd to 3rd gear change without prejudice. LOL! This is the only run with the bracket race. The other 2 are test runs.

I've been tempted to try a 4wd launch...I'm just not sure how all of the rotating parts will feel at 90mph..

I noticed I can't pull hard above 2500rpms. I guess I need a bigger lift pump. From 0-60 your azz is planted in the seat then the tailpipe clears and from 60-90 it takes forever.

QFT! Everybody seems to think rt affects et, especially on the internet.

But in bracket racing, isn't that important?

I'm still figuring out Head's-Up racing.

I've got two or three time-slips around here somewhere that shows I won, yet, my opponent was faster AND quicker at the finish line.

It seems that perhaps I had a better RT, a better 60' with a better 330', etc, compared to my opponent. I suppose you could say I had a better hand at the end of the strip.

EDIT: Found one:

I know in bracket racing, you predict your ET and try to get as close to it without actually going quicker.

Y'all are making me want to do a Google. Screw it, I'm tired. Spent too many hours on a roof installing refrigeration pipe insulation. I'm babbling . . . . . . . .
