Clutch suggestions

Postby JeepRocks86 » Wed Feb 08, 2012 5:43 pm

93 D350
5 speed GetRag
2wd
96800 miles
4" turbo back
plans for a fuel pin, gov spring, and an air intake are the planned mods.
Used as a DD and to tow a jeep and trailer.

It doesn't really need a clutch, but the trans is out for a rear main seal and trans input shaft seal so I was thinking I might as well since it's apart.

Not looking to break the bank.

suggestions?

Thanks

Valair or South Bend. Both have great clutches, SB is more money, but they also have great customer service. I haven't had any issues with my Valair yet. Just call each and tell them what you are doing, and they will recommend a clutch for you.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

With just a mild bump in power, my stock 140k mile clutch got abused by a farmer then pulled twice and drag raced many times when I got it. I would go for a stock Sachs 13"

If I go with a 13, wouldn't that require a new flywheel?

Stock is a 13" so unless an "upgraded" 12.25" was put in, then no.
