This is the second time in the last couple months that i broke teeth off on the input shaft. The bearings are all tight, just wondering if I am setting it up wrong. The truck is my work truck,so its hooked to a trailer more than its not. Thanks Eric

I would probably stop dumping the clutch with a load haha...

But seriously which transmission is it? The splines that go into the clutch or inside the transmission?

I was hoping somebody else would chime in because I'm an engine and auto transmission man, never fooled with sticks too much and certainly not that 360. The first time it happened what all did you replace?

It could be a defect of some sort in either the mating gear (to the one that stripped) or the shafts. None were scarred or bent or damaged in any way were they?

You did not replace the cluster that meshes with the input gear? Of all the failures I've repaired in the Getrag, the input gear is not one of them. Check and make sure the countershaft bearing races do not move around in the case. I had one that the bearing spun in the case, making the bore too large, and then the countershaft could move up and down. It had failed twice, in low miles, and was repaired by two other shops before I found the bad case. That could cause improper mesh with the input gear.
