The manual crew cabs had mechanical clutch linkage. I removed the firewall off of my Cummins donor, to use for a template to mark hole locations. Same for the front frame rails, to turn my dually crew into 4wd.

Haven't tore into the cab on the crew yet, so can't comment on the pedals yet. Have a manual in mine, but have stuck my head under the dash yet. lol

yea thats why i stuck with the 4x4 frame because i didnt wanna have to convert the front axle over and all that fun stuff. i basicly just left the tank where it was. i made new straps and the filler nick is now just inside the front of the box coming through the floor. the cab floor was cut out to fit over the frame rails because they come up sooner on the single cab frame. it was all channeled real nice and works and looks great. i also had to mod the rear crossmember because it has a contour in it. it acually stuck up about 2 inches and was hitting the cab floor so i had to pull it and swap it with one from my other frame. one that mounted flush on top of the frame. i had to change cab mounts as well (pain in the ass lol). so what you guys are saying is i will have to cut my firewall? can someone find a picture of this?thanks greatly

The problem us they didn't have hydraulic clutches the year your crew was built so no matter what your going to have to cut a hole in the firewall. Your also going to have to fab or find the mount that bolts into the pedal mount plate to hold the hydros. The pedal assembly will fit your factory bracket just take out the keeper bolt and slide the pin out holding the pedal and swap in the clutch/brake pedals. Biggest headache will be finding the bracket the master cylinder locks into and drilling the four holes to mount it with the dash in the truck.

on our 85 crew cab we cut the hole for the electrical plug and moved it. Then there was already a spot (with dimples ) for the reservoir to bolt to...then for the linkage I think there was a plug already...If not we just cut a hole in the same location....If you don't get what you need I may be able to get pictures of ours but it won't be for a month.

The electrical connector plug gets moved to the right EXACTLY 1/2 the width of the opening. In other words, measure the width of the rectangular hole, divide it by 2, then mark and cut the hole half the width of the original opening to the right. Then cut a piece of metal that is half the width of the original hole and weld it in place filling the left side of the original hole.

I also used a firewall template to locate the holes. It bolts on using the 1/4" holes in the tabs on the firewall face. I bolted it in place and used it as a guide for the proper sized hole saw.
