518 with no spark?

Postby Arnold Layne » Thu Feb 14, 2013 9:53 am

So if you have a manual shut-off and no FSS and you suffer catastrophic electrical failure :cry: , will the 518 still work and shift enough to get you home?

Thanks, I just got to wondering if the manual shut-off was worth the trouble on an automatic. Way back my FSS failed and left my new '92 dead in the water at about 10,000 miles.

Arnie, you do realize that THIS is the way to get to the coveted spot?
Don't call me and ask me these things, just post here and in no time the world will be your oyster! :lol:
At least, this little spot of it will be. ;)

BTW, you forced me to check into the leak on the carhauler by mentioning the hauler, in passing, earlier. 8)

I got deathly curious, put a battery in the bastard and chased the leak.
The fuel filter was loose.
Happy times are here again. :D
I've decided to do some improvements on it and start going to pick up more trash with it. :twisted:

Enjoy your stay, old friend. :alien:

Mark.

Pete, I don't drink, at least not to cover up my faults, anyway.
If I act stupid, it's natural, not the result of imbibing too much. :lol:

Maybe you should start drinking while your working? I do it so people think I'm drunk, not stupid. ;)

FSS = fuel shutoff solenoid?

If that fails it can leave the truck dead? Or you just have to manually shut the truck off?
