Tranny coming out. What about rear main?

I looked for a quick rundown on doing a rear main seal while my tranny will be out. A search of the threads just seemed to reference that it should be done. It anybody able to link me to a rundown of the actual job? I hate going in blind. I'm thinking I will be trying to get one of the last single piece ones off ebay.

Its a pretty straight forward procedure. I just did my rear main and oil pan seal while I had my tranny out to freshen up. Here is a link to a decent right up with pictures. http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/dev/ ... p?t=202854

All I did to pull mine out, was get a drill and 2 drywall screws and a Vise-Grips. Used a screw driver through the gap in the jaws and up against the end of the crank. Slid right out.

I didn't have an installer, but I used my finger to help ease the edge of the lip over the crank, as I slowly rotated it onto the crank. Have a cheapie seal driver kit, and used one of the drivers ends, on its side, and gently tapped the seal in as I worked around.
