While I'm no "hot rod diesel" expert, what makes the stall you have now needing replacement? Are you thinking it needs more stall speed? Surely you wouldn't need to go lower, huh?

I think its just to tight and its now allowing me to build boost fast enough.but I just thought it could also be timing.before it had a 2000 stall and it hauled a$$. But o didn't drive the truck before I installed the engine and transmission.I was advised to get a stall around 1400 so that's why I got the 1500.
I'm not very knowledgeable on automatic transmissions so this is all a guess

With that set up, I'd run a "stock" stall.

So any of your off the shelf Suncoast, Goerend, etc... converters should fit the bill quite nicely.

Those seem like awfully low gears for 40" tires. I run 4.10s with 37s in my crawler and it barely chugs along in 4hi.
